Cabinet Types

Full Tower :- A full tower cabinet is a computer cabinet that stands approximately 20-26 inches tall,has a t least 5 drive bays and is designed to stand vertically on the floor next to a desk. This type of cabinet usually has wheels so you can move it easily when you need to unplug a cable or do work on the computer.


Full Tower cabinets are often used for server computers because of the number of disk drives a server needs to hold.If a computer you are building or buying needs lots of drives, you may want to look into a full tower case.


The full Tower cabinet has some drawbacks.It's big size, awkward look due to its size and expensive.

Mid Tower :- A mid tower cabinet is a computer cabinet that stands between 16 and 19 inches tall, has at least three big drive bays, and is designed to stand vertically either on the floor or on a computer user's desk.it does not keep as much room as full tower cabinet, but it still has significant room for airflow and component layout.


This Cabinet was mostly used for personal computer in past time(2003).


The Drawback of this cabinet is its size, not a big issue but as people like small and more useful thing.it's less expensive than Full Tower cabinet.

Mini Tower :- A mini Tower cabinet is a cabinet that stands about 12 to 15 inches tall, has one or two big inch drive bays, and it also give look to pc whem you will keep it next to monitor.mini tower are mostly used for home purpose or small business level to keep the expense down.


It's not expensive comparision to Mid Tower cabinet and affordable to every one.


The effective drawback to mini tower cabinet is their small size, have some airflow problem, so the cabinet tend to be used for computer configurations that dont have many components.

Desktop :- A Desktop cabinet is designed to lie horizontally, with at least three 5*1/4 bays oriented horizontally and the one small 3*1/2-inch bays oriented vertically.The Original IBM PC used this style of cabinet.a typical full size desktop cabinet are about 15 to 17 inch wide and 5 to 7 inch high.


This cabinet usually saves floor and desktop space and was the design of choice for corporate America for several years for this reason.this is not costly.

Slimline :- Cabinet designers continually develop new designs that hold the most components in the least amount of space.A slimline computer cabinet usually has only one 5*1/4 inch drive bay.mounted horizontally.


It only one advantage is its small size.people will try to make their pc as unobtrusive on their desk as their pencil cup.


unavoidable disadvantage is heat.heat shortens the life of computer components, due to small size it requires good cooling system.
